N이/가 아니에요 — saying what you are NOT — and correcting it

Saying what you are NOT — and correcting it. Korean grammar for beginner learners — Level 1A, lesson 3: 저는 학생이에요 (I am a student — who you are, where you are from).

What it means

아니에요 is the negative of 이에요/예요 — '(it) is not'. The noun before it takes 이 after a consonant and 가 after a vowel. 이/가 is a new particle; for now just remember 'before 아니에요 use 이/가', never 은/는. Koreans usually deny and correct in one breath: 아니요, 회사원이 아니에요. 학생이에요.
