The place particle 에서 — where you do something. Korean grammar for beginner learners — Level 1A, lesson 5: 한국어를 공부해요 (I study Korean — your first verbs).

What it means

에서 goes after a place and shows where an action happens: 학교에서 공부해요, 'I study at school'. It never changes — the same 에서 after a consonant or a vowel. To ask where, put 어디에서 before the verb; to answer, put the place + 에서 in the same spot. The usual order is person · place · thing · verb: 저는 교실에서 책을 읽어요.
