N 주세요 — please give me N — asking for something
Please give me N — asking for something. Korean grammar for beginner learners — Level 1A, lesson 4: 이거는 뭐예요? (What is this?).
What it means
주세요 means 'please give me'. Put the thing you want in front of it: 연필 주세요, 'a pencil, please'. It never changes — no 받침 check: 책 주세요, 의자 주세요. For two things, join them with 하고: 공책하고 연필 주세요. It is polite, so you can say it to a friend, a teacher or a shop assistant. The other person hands it over with 여기 있어요, 'here you are', and you answer 감사합니다. Not sure they have it? Ask first — 볼펜이 있어요? — then say 볼펜 주세요.
