N에다가 — on · in · to this exact spot — where you put, write or send something

On · in · to this exact spot — where you put, write or send something. Korean grammar for upper beginner learners — Level 2A, lesson 6: 소포를 부치고 돈을 찾아요 (Sending a parcel and taking out money — errands).

What it means

에다가 is a stronger 에 for the exact place where you put, write, stick or send something: 여기에다가 쓰세요 'write it here', 가방에다가 넣었어요 'I put it in my bag'. It is the same with or without 받침, and in speech it is often shortened to 에다: 여기에다 쓰세요. Use it with verbs that move something to a place — 넣다, 놓다, 쓰다, 붙이다, 보내다 — not with 가다, 오다 or 있다: 학교에 가요, not 학교에다가 가요. For a person use 에게: 친구에게 보내요; for a place such as an account or an address use 에다가: 이 계좌에다가 보내 주세요. Plain 에 is never wrong in these sentences — 에다가 just points at the spot more clearly.
