누구나 · 언제나 · 어디나 · 무엇이나 (+ 아무나) — everyone · always · everywhere · anything — and 'any … at all' with 아무
Everyone · always · everywhere · anything — and 'any … at all' with 아무. Korean grammar for intermediate learners — Level 3A, lesson 2: 방을 바꿔 달라고 해 봐 (Ask them to change your room — passing on requests).
What it means
Add 나 to a question word (이나 after a 받침) and it means 'every …, with no exception': 누구나 'everyone, anyone', 언제나 'always', 어디나 'everywhere', 무엇이나 'anything, everything'. 무슨 N이나 and 어느 N이나 work the same way: 민수 씨는 무슨 운동이나 잘해요. With 아무 the meaning is 'any … at all — it doesn't matter which': 아무나 'anybody', 아무 때나 'any time', 아무 데나 'anywhere', and 아무거나, the spoken form of 아무것이나, 'anything'. 아무 + 나 sounds kind in invitations (아무 때나 오세요, 아무 데나 앉으세요) and strict in rules, where it means 'not just anybody' (아무나 들어오면 안 돼요, 쓰레기를 아무 데나 버리지 마세요). These words do not change the verb at the end, which keeps its own tense. 아무도 and 아무것도 with a negative verb come in Lesson 6.
