What you will be able to do
- Say why you did something, formally — on a form or at an interview: 한국에서 취업하고자 상담을 신청했습니다.
- State a plan and open a formal talk: 졸업 후에 한국에서 일하고자 합니다 · 오늘은 제 진로 계획에 대해 말씀드리고자 합니다.
- Say you did something the way it was planned or told: 계획대로 · 선생님이 말씀하신 대로 준비했어요.
- Promise the next step 'as soon as' — and introduce yourself at a mock interview: 결과가 나오는 대로 연락드리겠습니다.
Grammar in this lesson
- V-고자 (하다) — a formal 'in order to' — and 'I intend to'
- N대로 — 'as N · according to N' — the way a plan, an order or someone's words say
- V-는 대로 · V-(으)ㄴ 대로 — 'the way someone does or did' — and -는 대로 'as soon as'
