N with N — stacking details into one picture of a person. Korean grammar for advanced learners — Level 5A, lesson 1: 프로필 사진 속의 나 (Me in my profile photo — describing looks, clothes and first impressions in the age of retouching).

What it means

(A-(으)ㄴ/V-는) N에 N describes a face, a figure or an outfit as one picture: 갸름한 얼굴에 긴 생머리 'a slim face and long straight hair'. Put 에 after the first noun and add the next noun straight after it: 흰 셔츠에 청바지 'a white shirt and jeans'. Each noun can carry an adjective or a verb in front: 웃는 얼굴에 큼직한 눈 'a smiling face and big eyes', 큰 키에 마른 체격 'tall and slim'. Two parts are natural in speech; writing may stack three. Close the sentence with 이에요/예요 or a verb such as 입다, 신다 or 하다.
