Every single N — and N(이)란 for definitions in writing (Lesson 4A-11, now deeper). Korean grammar for advanced learners — Level 5A, lesson 5: 연애도 앱으로 (Dating by app — dating apps, AI relationship advice, and a generation that doesn't date).
What it means
In Lesson 4A-11 you used N(이)란 to say what something is: 사랑이란 서로를 믿는 거예요. In writing, a definition ends with -(으)ㄴ/는 것이다, and the big question is N(이)란 무엇인가? 'what is N?'. Today's new use: say the same noun twice — N(이)란 N은/는 모두 — and it means every single N, without exception: 드라마란 드라마는 다 'every single drama', 사진이란 사진은 모두 'every single photo'. After a 받침 use 이란 (사진이란 사진은), after a vowel 란 (드라마란 드라마는); 모두 or 다 usually follows.
