알고 보니 그런 뜻이었어요 — So that's what it meant — culture gaps and misunderstandings. Lesson 3 of Level 4B in the haru Korean regular course.
What you will be able to do
- Tell someone what you saw, heard or felt yourself with -더라고(요), and what you found already done with -았/었더라고요: 한국 카페는 밤 열한 시까지 문을 여는 곳이 많더라고요. · 가 보니까 자리가 벌써 다 찼더라고요.
- Share what you saw with a friend in casual speech with -더라, and ask yourself out loud when something slips your mind with -더라?: 리사 씨 영상 정말 재미있더라. · 그 식당 이름이 뭐더라?
- Say that there are (almost) no exceptions with N치고, or that something is not what you'd expect with N치고는 — and know when it can sound like a backhanded compliment: 아이치고 과자를 싫어하는 아이는 별로 없어요. · 4월치고는 날씨가 정말 덥네요.
- Show how you can tell, in written Korean, with -다는 것은 N에서/N(으)로 알 수 있다: 한국 사람들이 나이를 중요하게 생각한다는 것은 호칭에서 알 수 있다.
